While summer is often ” relax and unwind” time for many school employees, the transportation staff at VBAS has been busy in June “refreshing and rewinding”!!
We are very proud of our transportation department at VBAS and for good reason. During the first week of June, LaKecia Frasier, Transportation Coordinator attended the Annual Alabama School Transportation Association (ASTA) Conference. The ASTA is an organization comprised of Alabama public school bus supervisors, mechanics, office personnel and state officials. The purpose of the ASTA is to provide safe, efficient and cost effective transportation for school children to and from school and to extra-curricular activities. This annual conference provides its members an opportunity to attend educational as well as hands-on sessions dealing with current school bus transportation topics.
On Thursday, June 13, bus driver “extraordinaire” Clarissia Bighems participated in the ASTA School Bus Safety Road-E-O in Montevallo, Alabama. Congratulations Clarissia !! You represented us well !
