Meet our Board
Vivian B. Adams School is governed by a nine member board appointed by the Dale County Commission. This governing board holds open meetings monthly to assure the services/supports of the school are continuously focused upon the needs of the individuals.The professional diversity of the board brings a wealth of experience for the school. Their work on behalf of the students/individuals has made an immeasurable difference.
Attorney at Law. Mr. Adams serves as attorney for City of Ozark and seven other municipalities in Dale and Barbour Counties, he is legal counsel for Alabama ABC Board and serves as a certified mediator and Municipal Judge.
Ph.D. in Leadership and Administration. Dr. Bruggink teaches at Florida State University as an adjunct professor and works as a consultant with Dr. Diane Murphy.
Retired Optometrist; he served as adjunct professor with the University of Alabama School of Optometry, served three terms as President of the Alabama Optometric Association, and was Alabama Optometrist of the Year. Dr. Crosby is a long time member of the Ozark Rotary Club and active with the Boy Scouts of America.
USAF veteran, currently working for the Ft Rucker Aviation Maintenance Contractor as an AAE & I Tech Leader. Mr. Kamerer serves on the United Way committee for contractors at Hanchey Field. His daughter, Amber has attended VBAS for 29 years.
Professional educator with more 40 years in public education, including special education, at both the Pre-K through 12 grades and university settings. Currently an executive consultant, Dr. Murphy works to provide leadership development to school leaders. She was awarded the Truman M. Pierce Award for leadership contributions to the State of Alabama.
Attorney; retired District Judge. He serves as chairperson of Southeast Alabama Youth Services, Leisure Services Board of Directors, and Dale County Children’s Policy Council; he is involved in numerous community organizations.
