Kitchen Renovation

$1,835 of $25,000 raised

The current kitchen in the Amelia Brown Building was built over 40 years ago. It has no handicapped accessibility and doesn’t include the ergonomically correct features necessary for our student population.

Renovating the teaching kitchen area at VBAS and creating a handicapped accessible, ergonomically correct and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant kitchen will provide handicapped accessible work spaces, equipped and outfitted with easily maintained surfaces and user friendly appliances. This renovation will facilitate teaching, learning and the practice of healthy food preparation techniques that are easily transferred to the home kitchen. The new kitchen facility will be a teaching space with an easy flow allowing for both small and large group instruction.

Trophy Case

$10 of $3,000 raised

Throughout our almost fifty years of serving individuals with intellectual disabilities our school and our individuals have acquired many trophies. We would like to be able to display these in our new activity building and share our accomplishments with our community. We are seeking the community's help to raise $3,000 for a floor mounted display case.

Vivian B Adams School is the major beneficiary of the Ozark Rotary Club’s annual charity auction. Ozark Rotary Club has helped us purchase buses and most recently provided extra funding for classroom purchases, money for our lobby update and for our landscaping in front of our main building.

Each year Vivian B Adams School is privileged to receive much needed funding from Wiregrass United Way. Through them we are also able to apply for Challenge Grant monies to make specific purchases such as our school van, technology updates, shade cloth for our courtyard, and a new mini-bus.
