The “Fruits” of Our Labor

Individuals from the Burkett Center “walked through” and “picked” their lunch from the VBAS Tunnel House.  We have been growing an assortment of lettuces and lettuce mixes.

Planning to have lunch with us at the

44th Annual Christmas Bazaar Café on Friday, December 2nd ??

You will have opportunity to enjoy our lettuce on our delicious chicken salad wraps !

44th Annual VBAS Christmas Bazaar

For 44 years, the individuals, parents, caregivers and loyal VBAS supporters have contributed to make our annual Christmas Bazaar successful.  This year, thanks to grant monies from the Southeast Alabama Community Foundation and the guidance of Ozark’s own artist, Jane Dodson…our Bazaar will be better than ever !!

In August, Jane presented an in-service, full of ideas and techniques for bazaar items…

And with her dedication, encouragement and help….we have been working….

Remembering and Serving

untitledballoon1Today, Thursday November 17th is Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Day.  Our VBAS Family remembered those who have lost their battle with pancreatic cancer and celebrated those who fight this battle daily by releasing purple balloons.  We especially remember, Tish Lightel, mother of our own staff member JJ Lightel who battles this devastating disease.

Our Boy Scout Troop is serving our community this Thanksgiving season by providing eleven Thanksgiving meals to families in need.

Pres and Shaw Stevens and Sidney Owens help Daniel Gullion and Charles Smith, VBAS Boy Scouts pack Thanksgiving boxes.
